Charlie Braman

Charlie is interested in conservation, community, and island ecology. His recent research investigates community disruptions induced by the introduction or loss of species, organisms facilitating marine-terrestrial interface, and the ecological processes of coastal connectivity. His work focuses on furthering fundamental understanding of ecosystem processes while providing ready-to-implement information for conservation stakeholders. His study sites have ranged from sub-antarctic Chilean rivers to sea turtle nesting beaches in the Caribbean and Georgia to restoring California riparian wetlands. His graduate research is centered on pathways of nutrient flow between marine-terrestrial systems focusing on land crabs throughout the tropical Pacific as well as community networks in coastal California.
